Take These Things Away Copyright BMI Platten Music Publishing 2010 I want someone to know my favorite ice cream I want someone to laugh when I act like I’ m thirteen I need someone to stay till I can fall asleep Make being awake like living in a dream CHORUS: At the end of everyday no one can take these things away We all want love and that’ s okay, maybe there’ s someone. Cause when my song has slipped away And the darkness swallows the day Another one’s not very far away, so baby just hold on. I want somewhere to go when it’ s too noisy in my head Verbal vertigo I need to hear my voice instead I need some way to lose this fear of falling down Cause I can still dance when my feet are on the ground If you could see behind my eyes Indigo and ivory Overwhelmed in outer space Spinning round and round and chasing Fairy tales and shooting stars How I wonder where we are In this life we’ ll be alright All we gotta do is hold on tight

Overwhelmed 03:04
OVERWHELMED Rachel Platten Platten Music Publishing BMI 2010 We make patterns out of stars and we whisper little prayers To be somewhere that we're not and if we're good it will take us there But then the light comes through the dark and our questions fall apart It's just the beating of our hearts and the still of the midnight air And I get so overwhelmed till it's hard to tell what I'm thinking We get down down down we feel sorry for ourselves we get down down down we all need somebody's help Let's get loud loud loud till there's love and nothing else 'Cause the more that you give the more that comes back around So we hide away our hurts and put bandaids on our fears and we lie to all our friends move along there's no problems here but then the orchestra will start and the violins appear and a simple little melody has us fighting tears And I get so overwhelmed till it's hard to tell what I'm thinking We get down down down we feel sorry for ourselves we get down down down we all need somebody's help let's get loud loud loud till there's love and nothing else cuz the more that you give the more that comes back around But the hardest part is the way things are and how quickly fingers will bleed and the grace we need is not in magazines, it's just space, in between, when we breathe I am down down down I feel sorry for myself I am down down down and I need somebody's help let's get loud loud loud till there's love and nothing else cuz the more that we give, the more that comes back Down down down We feel sorry for ourselves We get down down down We all need somebody's help Let's get loud loud loud till there's love and nothing else 'Cause the more that you give the more that comes back around

Give it a listen love if you're quiet for long enough all the echoes & noise and stuff might combust Give it a listen love Your head has worked hard enough and your heavy eyes might adjust if you trust Close your eyes nothing needs to be solved tonight turn down the lights Let the Big World Spin there's a rhythm in everything Even the sun must sink to begin again Be a big girl now it's a big world anyhow hen our words run out we will slow, slow it down

53 Steps 03:37
53 Steps Copyright Rachel Platten/ Fredrik Tomander I am 53 steps from my apartment I have memorized the cracks that age the road I couldn't quite grasp what my heart meant but I think that it was telling me to go now I’m going up down spinning round trying to communicate but these words aren't quite what I'm trying to say I’m coming close, close close I feel it in my toes toes toes Theres a light that shines when I'm on the road There's a brand new sky that I need to know I'm reading signs and I’m seeing patterns in the snow As I walk into the great unknown 17 blocks from the station 48 stops from the coast till I could jump with all my clothes on in the ocean And let the water rock me in her throws And go up down spin round leave it up to fate like a sailor finding comfort in the waves Im coming close close close I feel it in my toes toes toes Theres a light that shines when I'm on the road There's a brand new sky where I need to go I'm reading signs Im seeing patterns in the snow As I walk into the great unknown I can feel it in my toes, I know i’m coming close so I’ll leave this old town with her saints and her ghosts I’m coming close, signs say I need to go

about

In autumn of 2010, Craig won 10 free hours of time at Milkboy Studios in PA & we decided to make a live EP with the time. No frills, no special effects, no added goodies, just the three of us (Martin Rivas, Craig Meyer & I) playing some of our favorite songs live to hopefully represent how we've been touring the big wide world this year. We hope you enjoy it!
Lots of love,
Rachel
